The Survey On Denver Downs Farm - 1763 Words

The observations of the subjects in the following paper were conducted on Saturday, October 17th 2015 at Denver Downs Farm in Anderson, South Carolina. Denver Downs was hosting a fall event that included hayrides, sports, games, a corn maze, and many other activities. This event drew in many people of all ages, genders, and ethnicities. There was also a Clemson University football game the following day, drawing in many more people to the area that weekend. The observations took place from three to six at night when it was approximately sixty-eight degrees Fahrenheit outside. This time frame was†¦show more content†¦Taking turns allows a smooth transition between transactions and one must demonstrate that they heard and understand what someone said by giving some form of verbal or nonverbal response. There were many parents who brought their children to the event. This is because it is important to spend time with your children, especially on weekends when they may have no other obligations. When a child would scream or cry for whatever reason, subjects would turn and look around for the source of the sound. When someone is in distress, especially a helpless child, one must see if they can be of assistance. Most people would look away after locating the child and not respond when they saw someone else was with them. This is because it is no longer their responsibility if someone else, such as the perceived parent, is handling the situation. Older children were helping younger children on the rope swing and pillow trampoline. Young children need to be shown and taught what to do in situations they are not familiar with. Older children must teach them in situations where adults cannot, possibly due to size or age constrictions. Small children would play in sand boxes or other sanctioned off areas while parents sat o n the outskirts watching them. There are specific areas that only people of certain size/ages can play in so they will be safe and it is the job of a parent or
